Every place in Washington that will train a member of the public for a commercial license — Class A, Class B, passenger and school bus.49 tell the state what happened to their graduates. 142 do not. Pick one and we will walk you through what it costs, who can pay for it, and what happens next.

Placement is the share of leavers employed in the second quarter after exit, in any industry. Cohort sizes vary widely, so a rate on a small cohort is noisy — the number of students is shown beside every rate.

Tractor-trailer. The longest training and the most road work.

Worth knowing before you pay for Class A: in Washington, transit and intercity bus drivers have a higher median wage than tractor-trailer drivers, and Class B needs half the required training hours. Several passenger and school-bus employers train you themselves and pay you while you do it. Class B does not reach Workforce Pell — 80 hours is below the 150-hour floor — but it is on the state's eligible-provider list, so a WIOA grant can still pay.
